The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world

Have you ever questioned yourself, about how to lead your life in peace at midst of sorrows, tribulations and temptations? If you have, then we have an answer just for you!

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

Yes, the ONE who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world!

Who is in the world?

Satan, who is the god of this world. 2 Corinthians 4: 4

Satan, the fallen angel plans his plot against us thus preventing us from entering into God’s plan. He uses his people to trap us, may be our friends, our relatives or higher officials in our job. Not only people, he might also try his chances on making us sick or use witchcrafts against us.

But behold, who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Who is the One inside us?

We know that God the Father, Lord Jesus Christ are the ones who lives with us while it is Holy Spirit who dwells in us. As we see in John 14:16, the work of Holy Spirit is to remind you of everything Jesus have said to us through word of God, the Bible.

Why to remind us of Jesus Christ? Because, Jesus is greater than everything!

Jesus through his crucifixion has overcome everything in the world.

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11

Also, we see several occurrence of his greatness in bible like the following,

Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, His holy mountain. (Psalm 48:1)

Lord Jesus Christ is greater than the temple. (Matthew 12:6)

Lord Jesus Christ is greater than Solomon. (Matthew 12:42)

Lord Jesus Christ is greater than Abraham. (John 8:53)

Lord Jesus Christ is greater than Jacob. (John 4:12)

Lord Jesus Christ is greater than Sabbath day. (Matthew 12:8)

Jesus, the son of God will deliver us from the all the mines of satan and will give us his blessings who believes in him!

A blessing in your promised land:

When God bought Israelites out of egypt, He commanded to drive out few nations from the places where they are about to inherit the promised land. So Joshua took the entire land, just as the LORD directed Moses, and he gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their tribal divisions.

During that time, Joshua blessed Caleb and gave him “Hebron” as his inheritance. “Hebron” is the place where a man named “Kiriath Arba‟ lived. He was the greatest man among the Anakites. (Joshua 14:15).

Who are these Anakites?

Anakites are the one who is greater in the world. Yes, literally they are humongous. They are the descendants of Nephilim. These Nephilim were on earth in those days-and also afterward- when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. (Genesis 6:4)

The LORD hated these Anakites as they are the descendants of Nephilim. These giant structured people were there in the place of Hebron, in which Caleb was yet to posses this land. Caleb being not afraid of these anakites, said to himself, with LORD’S help I will drive them out. And with the help of LORD, caleb drove out the three Anakites-Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai, the Sons of Anak. (Joshua 15:14) from Hebron and possessed it.

While it was not be his might he drove them out but by the One who was with Caleb.

Same way, In our life there are people like anakites who are very numerous for us, staying in our promised land, in the fortified city which God destined us to give. They may have power to harm us or to plot evil against us. But the One who was with Caleb is also with us to help us to inherit the promised land.

God is going to give you the blessing of the promised land, a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dug, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant.

The One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world whether it may be Anakites or Nephilim or whoever it might be.

If God is with us, who can be against us?

But at the same time, when you inherit this promised land, you should be careful not to forget the LORD who bought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. (Deuteronomy 6:10,11,12)

A blessing in the campus:

Naaman is a great man and highly regarded, because through him the LORD had given victory in Aram. But he suffered from leprosy. A girl who was taken as a captive worked and served for Naaman’s wife. The girl said to Naaman’s wife, “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.” (2 Kings 5:3)

The girl knows that the one who is in Elisha, would heal Naaman’s leprosy. Naaman went to Elisha’s house to get himself healed. But before naaman could even meet him, Elisha sent messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.” On hearing this, Naaman got angry and said, “I thought he would come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.

But Namaan’s servants urged him to listen to the prophet’s words. So Naaman went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times as the man of God told him, and his flesh was restored and become clean like that of a young boy. After he was got cured, he gave testimony saying “Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel” 2 Kings 5:15.

Same way, there may be people like Naaman in your campus/office who is highly regarded and respected by everyone yet suffer from problems of life. If you encounter such people, take courage and share about Jesus Christ, the greatest healer the world has ever seen. God will use you to heal them by your prayers and petitions for them. After God solved their problems, they are going to testify and praise God like Naaman did!

A Blessing of healing:

As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her.  She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. (Luke 8:43,44)

Here we see a woman who had been held by satan for twelve years longing for cure had touched Jesus’s cloak, power came out of him and healed her. Jesus said someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me. Imagine the joy she might have got after all the suffering she went through twelve years. Yes, Jesus is capable of changing your sorrows to joy in no time.

One encounter with Jesus Christ will change your life upside down forever!

All you have to do is believe that one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

A Blessing over Witchcraft

Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great,  and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed, “This man is rightly called the Great Power of God.” They followed him because he had amazed them for a long time with his sorcery. But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.  Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw. (Acts 8:13)

Here, we see simon, a sorcerer who made people awestruck with his magic arts. But when he saw the power of God through Philip’s work, he himself got astonished. This is not because of Philip but because of the one who was in him. When he shared gospel, people turned to kingdom of God and got baptized. The Gospel which we receive is greater than all the magic arts and sorcery of this world.

There is no divination against Jacob, no evil omens against Israel. Numbers 23:23a

No weapon forged against you will prevail. (Isaiah 54:17)

The One who is in you (Lord Jeus Christ) is greater than the one who is in the world, gives you a blessing in your promised land, a blessing in your campus, a blessing of healing from all your sickness and finally blessing over witchcrafts and all demonic influences!

Blessed April Month.

God bless you!

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

In our life, we face various kinds of situations. We can’t say we are happy all time irrespective of our situation. Sometimes we undergo troubles, face trials and tribulations.

But I would like you to remind that whoever has accepted Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, will be least troubled or dismayed. Because we have His word say,

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)

This is our promise verse for march.

Rod and Staff

Basically, rod and staffs are used by shepherd as they overlook their flocks. Sometimes they use it to save their flock’s life from wolf, fox, lion or whichever wild beasts that may come to scatter them.

Who is our Shepherd?

“I(Lord Jesus Christ) am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” (John 10:11)

Yes, Jesus Christ is our shepherd. He leads us, feeds us, also comforts us.

Today, let us see three types of staffs he holds in His hands.

The Staff of Favor:

So I shepherded the flock marked for slaughter, particularly the oppressed of the flock. Then I took two staffs and called one Favor and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock. (Zechariah 11:7)

Favor” is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. God irrespective of our human nature still loves us and cares for us. That is how he had overlooked Israelites troubles on Egypt. He lead them out of egypt and nourished them on the way to Israel, a promised land. They were favored before the eyes of God.

Year of Favor:

God says, “I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years.” (Leviticus 25:21)

God commanded Moses to say to Israelites that for six years you shall sow and reap but at the seventh year you shall not do any work and you should celebrate the year of Jubliee. For blessings of sixth year will be plenty and it will be sufficient for next three years. Isn’t it great? Just like God rested on seventh day after creating all things, same way He wants us to rest on seventh year without doing any work but worship God for his marvellous works.

Now we, who all are not israelites by birth but by faith is eligible for this blessing. For we have his promise

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – John 1 : 12

Through Jesus Christ we have become Sons of God.

Jesus Christ while preaching at the temple said, God has sent Him to proclaim the year of Lord’s favor. (Luke 4:19)

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. Isaiah 61 : 1, 2a.

Like it has been prophesied in the book of Isaiah 61, Jesus Christ is the chosen Son of God and we, by believing him and accepting him as our personal saviour are now favored before eyes of God.

The Rod of Justice:

Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. (Psalm 45:7)

Our God is God of Just. He helps the oppressed people and judges people who oppresses the weak. Like he judged Pharaoh who plotted evil against Israelites. He killed all the male child, and God judged him by destroying all the first born of the Egyptians. Also being destroying them, God also strucked Pharaoh and egyptians with plagues.

“You are just in these judgements, O Holy One, for You who are and who were; for they have shed the blood of Your holy people and your prophets, and You have given them blood to drink as they deserve.” (Revelation 16:5,6)

We are in end times. God is going to judge the wrongdoer and evil ones. God is very much concerned about us, to judge all those who raise against His children. Those who oppress us, those who devise evil against us will all face God’s judgement for He has the Rod of Justice in His hand.

I would also like to emphasize that it is going to be Lord Jesus Christ who is going to judge people according to their deeds.

About the Son he says,

“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.” – Hebrews 1 : 8

Yes, during his first coming Jesus Christ came to this world demonstrating the Love of God. But during his second coming, he is going to be the Ultimate Judge.

Staff of Oneness:

‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to take the stick of Joseph –which is in Ephraim’s hand-and of the Israelite tribes associated with him, and join it to Judah’s stick. I will make them into a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.’ (Ezekiel 37:19)

This is the work of the Holy Spirit who unites us with God. His (Lord Jesus Christ) purpose was to create in Himself one new humanity out of the two, whether Israelites or Gentiles.

God has the Staff of Oneness in his hands to make all the believers one in heart and mind. (Acts 4:32)

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all in all. (Ephesians 4:4,5)

God unites us through Holy Spirit who believes Him by the Staff of Oneness in His hand.

Apostolic Teaching

We saw the work of God through staff. During the crucifixion this staff was given to Jesus Christ.

They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand. Then they knelt in front of Him and mocked Him. “Hail, king of Jews!” they said. (Matthew 27:28,29)

This particular incident is a prophecy, prophesied in the book of Micah that he(Christ) will be beaten up by staff.

They will strike Israel’s ruler on the cheek with a rod.(Micah 5:1)

Jesus Christ being God, did nothing but accepted the sufferings to save mankind from sin. He redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.
It is not soldiers who persecuted Jesus Christ, but also we, by our sinful and arrogant deeds, persecute Jesus every day.

How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:29)

Let us turn our minds from evil and sinful nature.

Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. – Hebrews 12 : 1, 2

Jesus has the rod and staff in His Hands to give us His Favor, to give us His Justice, and the Staff of Oneness to bless us.

God Bless!

Blessed New Year 2016

Israel, a transplanted vine, the Church

“You transplanted a vine from Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.
You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land.
The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches.
Its branches reached as far as the Sea, its shoots as far as the River.”  (Psalm 80:8-11)

Vine is the people of Israel whom God delivered them out of Egypt where they were slaves.
God drove out many nations before Israelites and planted them in the land which He gave.
Likewise, Vine is the Church of God, redeemed by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, God delivered us from our Egyptian life or sinful life where at once we were enslaved to sin.

God drove out all the nations that is what all the evil spirits from us through the Blood of Lord Jesus Christ and by the word of Lord Jesus Christ. (while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. John 15:2)
we are His branches that covers the mountains and even the mighty cedars. We are greater than the mountains which refers to the authorities of this world. The one who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world.

God expects us to be fruitful:

“I will sing for the one I love a song about His vineyard:
My loved one had a vineyard (Church) on a fertile hillside.
He dug it up and cleared it of stones and planted it with choicest vines.
He built a watchtower in it and cut out a winepress as well.
Then He looked for a crop of good grapes, but it yielded only bad fruit.” (Isaiah 5:1,2)

God planted us on a fertile hillside, He dug it up and clear the stones, (cleared our sins) and planted it with the choicest vines (with His chosen people).
He also built a watchtower, a wall which is by (the Blood of Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of Lord Jesus Christ) to protect us from the evil one.
Then He is looking for a crop?
Are we bearing a good fruit or a bad fruit?

Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then He rented to some farmers and moved to another place. When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.
“The tenants seized His servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third. Then He sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way. Last of all, He sent His Son to them. ‘They will respect my Son,’ He said.
“But when the tenants saw the Son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir. Come lets kill Him and take His inheritance.’ So they took Him and threw Him out of the vineyard and killed Him. (Matthew 21:33—39)

God, the Father sent His servants, His prophets into His Vineyard, to collect His fruit. But the tenants killed them. At last God sent His own Son Lord Jesus Christ into His Vineyard to collect His fruit. They killed His Son by nailing Him on the Cross.

Lord Jesus Christ gave His life for His Father’s Vineyard, for us who are His people.
God the Father brought those wretches to a wretched end.
That is what our God and Lord Jesus Christ are very zealous for their vineyard.
Church, a transplanted vine.

Consecrate yourselves and enter into this new year

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” (Joshua 3:5)

Consecrate yourselves from all the evil things:

The Lord said,
“Go, consecrate the people. Tell them, ‘Consecrate yourselves in the preparation for tomorrow, for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: There are devoted things among you, Israel. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.” (Joshua 7:13)

In few days we are going to enter into the new year 2016. What all the things which had hindered us from inheriting the blessing of God, let us leave all that in this year before we enter the new year.

The word of God says,
“Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” (1 Corinthians 5:8)

    Humble your heart before God:

There was a vineyard that belonged to Naboth, the Jezreelite. Naboth took care of his vineyard very well that it was his ancestors inheritance.
His vineyard was next to the palace of the king Ahab who was the king of Samaria. Ahab, who noticed Naboth’s vineyard which was next to his palace went to Naboth and asked him the vineyard. Ahab had in mind to change the Naboth’s vineyard into herbs to keep it next to his palace.
But Naboth refused to give his vineyard to Ahab. Naboth replied to Ahab that “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my ancestors.”

So Ahab and his wife Jezebel plotted an evil against Naboth to seize his property. They killed Naboth by arising a false witness upon him.
The Lord’s anger burnt against Ahab and then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite: “Go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who rules in Samaria. He is now in Naboth’s vineyard, where he has gone to take possession of it. Say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Have you not murdered a man and seize his property?’ Then say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: In the place where dogs licked up Naboth’s blood, dogs will lick up your blood-yes, yours!’” (2 Kings 21:17,18,19)

And also the Lord said that I am going to bring disaster on you and all your descendants will be cut off from Israel and also dogs will eat that belonging to Ahab who die in the city.
Ahab, hearing the word of the Lord tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and fasted.

Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite: “Have you noticed how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself, I will not bring this disaster in his day. (1 Kings 21)

Vineyard is the Church of God.
Naboth is the minister of God.
Ahab is the evil person who is full of malice and wickedness.
There are people like Ahab who are surrounded with us noticing the Vineyard to make it as an Herb to keep it in their palace just for an appearance.
But Naboth, took care of the vineyard watched over it and cause it to bear fruit.

Naboth refused to give his vineyard.
The Ministers of God should refuse to give their Vineyard to people like Ahab. Naboth even gave his life for his Vineyard. Naboth was zealous about his Vineyard.

Just as the Apostle Paul was zealous about his Vineyard, his people, to present them all to one husband, to Lord Jesus Christ.
(2 Corinthians 11:2)

Finally, Ahab who sold himself to evil, repented and humbled his heart before God. God took away the disaster which was about to come upon him and his descendants.

Consecrate yourselves before God and give thanks to God for what all He had done for you in this year 2015.

Humble your heart before God.
Bear fruits being in His Vineyard.

merry christmas

Merry Christmas

Do we have the mind of Christ Jesus?
What is the mind of Christ Jesus?
“He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in a human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:7,8)
This is the mind of Christ Jesus.

(To be nothing, To be a servant, To walk humbly, To be Obedient.)
Apostle Paul says us to have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.(Philippians 2:5)
As the result of this,

God exalted Lord Jesus to the highest place and gave Him the name above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9,10,11)

God expects us to be like this, always to have the mind of Christ Jesus. The word of God says,
What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)
From the birth of Lord Jesus Christ to His death, He made nothing, He humbled, He was obedient.

The Birth of Lord Jesus Christ:

The birth of Jesus started in the manger, as there was no place in the room.
“She gave birth to her first born, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was not guest room available for them.” (Luke 2:7)
What is the manger? Manger is a trough or an open box in which feed for livestock is placed. This shows the humble state which God prepared for Lord Jesus Christ even in His Birth to set Himself as an example for us to walk in His footsteps.
Not only in His Birth, even in His circumcision. Jesus parents took a pair of doves for sacrifice offering. This too shows the humble state where they took a pair of doves instead of taking a bull.

Also many asked Jesus that Isn’t this son of carpenter? Even though He is the Son of God, He did not hide his face from their mocking. (Isaiah 50:6)
These incidents shows us that Lord Jesus Christ didn’t live a life in a way of lavishing or a luxurious life. In one of His statement, He says,
“Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.” (Luke 9:58)
Also we read in Bible that He had no time to eat, He slept at the back of the boat. All the ways of His life He made nothing, taking the very nature of a servant. He didn’t care about Himself, but only about the people and the Kingdom of God.
In another place, when Lord Jesus Christ had done a miracle, people came to anoint Him as a king but He withdrew Himself to a mountain.
(Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make Him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by Himself.
John 6:15)
This is the mind of Christ Jesus.

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor so that you through His poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9)

Lord Jesus Christ taught this humble state to His disciples:

Lord Jesus Christ washed His disciples feet. In this place, He took the very nature of the servant.
Lord Jesus Christ, poured water into the basin and began to wash His disciples feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around Him. (John 13:5)
Lord Jesus Christ said, the greatest among you should be the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.
For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? It is not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. (Luke 22:26,27)
Lord Jesus Christ was baptized by John, this shows the humble state of our Lord. Lord said, it is proper for us to fulfill all righteousness. (Matthew 3:15)
By His Humility, He fulfilled the righteousness of God.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom of many.” (Mark 10:45)

Prayer is a sign of Humility:

In many places in the life of Lord Jesus Christ, He didn’t show pride by using His power, instead He showed His Humbleness by His prayer. He was always dependent upon God.
When they came to arrest Jesus, He didn’t use His power. When Peter raised His sword to cut the guardian’s ear, He said Peter to Put his sword back. Even though Jesus knew that the angels would come and rescue Him but He never used His power and authority to destroy them.
Also at the cross, when they hurled insults upon the Lord, He prayed, “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)
The word of God says,
During the days of Jesus life on earth, He offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save Him from death and He was heard because of His reverent submission. (Hebrews 5:7)

At the last minute of His death, Lord Jesus Christ cried out in a loud voice to the Father and gave His Spirit to Him. (Matthew 27:50)
When you pray, you receive humbleness from God.

Meeting up together in the Church gives Humility:

The word of God in the old testament says,
It is a day of Sabbath rest, and you must deny yourselves; it is a lasting ordinance. (Leviticus 16:31)
Whenever you gather together in the Church of God, you deny yourself, you humble yourself before God.
Also if we see the word of God in the new testament,
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24)
Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud. (Proverbs 16:19)

Always clothe yourself with this mind, the mind of Christ Jesus.
Finally let us remember the word of Lord Jesus Christ,
“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Matthew 23:12)
“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (1 Peter 5:5)
Therefore, In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5)
